FASHION TRENDS: COLORS & PATTERNS
I can hardly wait any fashion season for the magazines to show the most inspiring looks, as seen on the catwalk. I often make collages of the most beautiful prints, fabrics, silhouettes and accessories in my head. From now on I will work out all these collages to share them with you. This week I will show the most populair colors and prints of this fashion season.
Many designers inspired their looks on epic art movements this season. Pop Art artist Andy Warhol showed up at Versace, Keith haring at Coach and Manga cartoons stole the show at Commes de Garçons.
Black and white prints were shown in a very balanced composition, with half white and half black surfaces. From painterly dots at Carolina Herrera to graphic checks at Balmain and playful stripes take at Dior.
There is nothing boring about the stripes and check prints of this season. Choose from Ginham, Tartan, Houndstooth and horizontal and vertical steps. Or combine different check prints with each other as seen at Hermes.
Sweet pastels are available in all flavors this spring. Celine combined different pastels in one outfit and Stella McCartney and Valentina made a statement in one color. While Stella Mc Cartney strengthens the sweetness with ruffles, Valentino gives it a cool twist.
Is there a summer without flowersprints imaginable? Luckily they are available in all styles from nostalgic to tropical this season. Go all the way and mix different flower prints or keep it simple with an flowerprint accessory.
Raise your look to exotic proportions with Asian prints with cranes, cage carps, Japanese cherry blossoms and Chinese dragons. Get inspired by the looks of Blumarine, Gucci and Kenzo.
